“Changing lives, one scholarship ata a time”
The Steinway Society of Puerto Rico serves to promote young artistic talent through a program of Master Classes and Music Festivals. It works together with the Puerto Rico Charitable Trust for the Education of Young Musicians, which receives funds that will help recognize young talent and change their lives.
Our mission is to provide a forum for fostering the talent of young musicians through funding from private enterprise, thus catapulting and giving their talent a means of international exposure. The purpose is to generate membership, donations and fundraisers to further music education of young pianists in Puerto Rico and the world over by offering musical events (recitals, concerts, workshops and master classes) throughout the year, and scholarships and tuition for Master Classes held in the historic setting of The Gallery Inn.
The Gallery Inn and its famed Music Room has been a venue for Steinway Artists, Classical Piano, Chamber Music for nearly 20 years.
Some of the previous performances at The Gallery Inn, now the Steinway Society of Puerto Rico headquarters, include: Ian Hobson, John O’Connor Ingrid Fliter, Anton Kuerti, Michael Lewin, Jorge Federico Osorio, José Ramos Santana, Boaz Sharon, Susan Starr and Mikola Suk.
The Steinway Society of Puerto Rico hosts the Puerto Rico International Master Classes and Puerto Rico International Piano Festival, among other events.
